The Junction City Police Department arrested a juvenile suspect Wednesday in connection with a dozen residential burglaries in the south part of the city.
Detectives developed a possible suspect on Tuesday. After surveillance was set up, the suspect was observed walking behind a house in the 200 block of South Eisenhower. As Officers approached, the suspect had just gained entry to a residence. After a short foot chase, a seventeen year old male visiting from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida was taken into custody. A search warrant was executed at his temporary residence, and numerous items believed to be stolen were collected.
The juvenile is charged with eleven counts of Burglary and Theft, four counts of Damage to Property and Felony Obstruction. He is currently being held at the Juvenile Detention Center pending his first appearance in Geary County District Court.
