    K-State Volleyball Slips Past TCU for 1st Big 12 Win

    Facing a two sets to one deficit, K-State trailed TCU by as many as six points in the fourth frame before rallying for a five set victory on Saturday night at Ahearn Fieldhouse, 25-20, 21-25, 21-25, 25-21, and 15-7.  The Wildcats are now 19-1 in five set matches since September 28th, 2010.

    Senior Kaitlynn Pelger had a season-high 23 kills.  Junior Taylor Johnson had a career-high 18 kills on a match-high .441 hitting percentage while seniors Courtney Traxson and Dakota Kaufman recorded 15 and 10 kills, respectively.  Redshirt freshman Katie Brand had a career-high 59 assists along with 15 digs for her seventh double-double of the season. Gina Madonia also had 15 digs to help lead K-State (13-3, 1-2).  TCU (12-6, 1-3) was topped in kills by Blaire Pickens with 10.

    K-State will make a pair of Big 12 road trips in the coming week, on Wednesday night to Iowa State and Oklahoma on Saturday night.  First serve against the Cyclones on Wednesday will be at 6:30pm in Ames, and pregame begins at 6:00 on NewsRadio 1350 KMAN at Hilton Coliseum with Rob Voelker.
