A man convicted of first degree murder and other charges in Geary County nearly 40 years ago is up for a public comment session and possible parole.
Frank Pencek, 66, was convicted in 1975 in connection with a May 1974 incident involving murder, kidnapping, and rape.
Elizabeth Bush, 20, was kidnapped, raped, and killed at Milford Lake. She was studying for a recreation degree at Kansas State and had been working a summer job at Milford Lake. She was stabbed 27 times.
Her parents have been known to attend the public omment sessions in times past–in particular nine years ago when Pencek was up for parole for the fifth time.
Sessions this time are November fourth at City Hall in Kansas City, November fifth at the Landon State office building in Topeka, and November sixth at the Finney State office building in Wichita.
A parole hearing for Pencek would be in December, with the earliest release in January of next year.
