    Update On Fatal Accident

    Kansas Highway Patrol

    The Kansas Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation of a fatal accident in northern Riley County early Saturday morning.

    According to KHP Lt. Greg Harkrader, findings will be fowarded to the Riley County Attorney’s office on any possible criminal charges. County Attorney Barry Wilkerson confirmed the matter is under investigation.

    Trevor Redding, 17, of Randolph died in the crash on LK&W Road at about 2:30 Saturday morning.

    The other teens involved have been identified as Garrett Olson, 19, of Leonardville and Lane Howe, 17, of Riley.

    As reported by KMAN Saturday,the Kansas Highway Patrol Crash Log indicates Olson was driving a 1990 Honda Accord when the vehicle went into a skid , entered a ditch and struck a rock wall. The vehicle then overturned, ejecting Redding who was a passenger in the back seat. Redding was pronounced dead at the scene.
