Wamego sisters, Kaylee and Lanie Page nearly added a second state championship to their resume in 2013, this time as a doubles team at the 4A state tennis meet in Topeka. The Pages led the Lady Raiders to a state basketball crown in March. They dropped only six games in their first three matches, setting up a showdown with Camry Holle and Emily Ediger of McPherson, who they defeated in the regional championship. But, the Bullpup duo got their revenge in Topeka, 6-2, 4-6, 7-6. The Pages took second after dropping the third set tiebreaker 7-0.
The Manhattan High doubles team of Kristen Fraley and Cathy Lei came in 8th place at the 6A state meet at Maize South on Saturday. After an early loss, Fraley and Lei won their next three matches before falling in their final two.
