Funeral services were held late Thursday morning for Sgt. First Class Forrest Robertson of Westmoreland, who was killed in action in Afghanistan earlier this month.

His service was held at Wamego’ s Trinity Baptist Church and burial, with full military honors, followed in Wamego City Cemetery.

The ceremony was enhanced by American flags all along the route, at the direction Wednesday from Larry ” The Flagman” Eckhardt . The Flagman travels around the country with 1,600 flags, which are installed or planted along the funeral route of a fallen soldier. More than 300 volunteers assisted in the flag planting endeavor.
