The Manhattan High School Boys Cross Country team won the Kansas Class 6A State Championship Saturday in Lawrence finishing first with 27 points outdistancing Wichita North which was second with 105 points.
Individual finishes for the Indians included Chris Melgares (2nd), Jack Keeley (5th) Jackson Schroeder (6th), Josue Alvarado (7th), Isaiah Koppes (11th), Michael Melgares (17th) and Nick Bandy (31st). The Manhattan High Girls Cross Country team took 6th place at State with 158 points. The MHS Girls were led by Alana Schroeder (3rd), Cara Melgares (16th) and Megan Ochoa (27th).
