A 19 year old Ogden man being held in Riley County Jail on a murder charge appeared in court Monday afternoon for pre-trial.
Michael DeChant pleaded no contest to second degree murder, after executing the plea agreement with Defense Attorney, Larry McCrell on Friday afternoon.
DeChant is charged with the murder of 6 month old Dominick Lubrano after reportedly “shaking the baby to stop his fussing” on March 15th. The baby died three days later at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.
Riley County District Court Judge, David Stutzman stated the court accepted the plea of no contest and found DeChant guilty of 2nd degree murder.
Sentencing is set for December 9th at 1:30 p.m
