NORMAN, Okla. (AP) Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops says he won’t name a starting quarterback as the Sooners prepare to play Kansas State on Saturday.
Coming out of a 48-10 win over Iowa State, the 20th-ranked Sooners (8-2, 5-2 Big 12 Conference) saw backups Trevor Knight and Kendal Thompson get action against the Cyclones after starter Blake Bell was injured early in the second quarter.
Knight took over and led the offense on five scoring drives, including a 56-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter, and he finished 8-of-14 passing for 61 yards also rushing for 123 yards.
Stoops says there will be competition this week at the quarterback position, just like every week.
