K-State cruised past Central Arkansas 87-54 behind a season-high 19 points from senior Shane Southwell. Junior Thomas Gipson had 17 points and 6 rebounds and sophomore Marcus Foster added 10 points as well.
The Wildcats dominated the undersized bears on the boards all game long and finished with a 52-22 rebounding advantage.
It got started early when K-State ripped off 12 straight points after falling behind 2-0. Gipson had six of the twelve, and Southwell and Spradling each knocked down early three pointers. The Cats didn’t look back from there.
K-State has now climbed back over .500 at 4-3 and will get a tough test next Thursday when Marshall Henderson and Ole Miss come to town as part of the Big 12/SEC challenge.
