GREAT BEND, Kan. (AP) Great Bend is making plans to demolish one World War Two-era hangar and to put another on the historic registry. The Hutchinson News reports that the airfield in Great Bend was among 18 that were part of the war effort in Kansas. It was used to train flight personnel for B-29 bombers. The hangar slated to be placed on the historic registry remains in use.
