    K-State Holds Fall Commencement

Kansas State University awarded over 1,400 Bachelor’s Degrees 300 Masters Degrees, 16 Associate Degrees and 90 Doctorates Friday and Saturday in Bramlage Coliseum.

“There are many reasons to care deeply about this  place, your student colleagues, the great professors, everything you have learned while you have been here; but please remember this, Kansas State University also cares deeply about you and your success,” said Fred Logan, chair of the Kansas Board of Regents.

Dr. Orlando Taylor, President of the Washington D.C. campus of The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, also addressed the grads and said they earned their degrees at a time of the greatest explosion of knowledge in the history of human kind. Taylor added that according to some, the quantity of available knowledge doubles every 2-3 years.

“What this means for each graduate, is that your K-State Graduate Degree will eventually become out-of-date unless you take steps to keep it up-to-date in your respective fields.”

Dr. Taylor encouraged the graduates to maintain a life-long thirst for knowledge and to be open to grasping new ideas and perspectives.

“In other words, and I really do hate to tell you this, you must remain a student for the rest of your lives,” said Dr. Taylor with a slight grin.
