
The first discussion will be about “Bailey’s Cafe” by Gloria Naylor, hosted by Ann Birney. Birney is an expert from the Kansas Humanities Council.
On February 27th, Marilyn Klaus, lecturer of Religious Studies and African American Studies at the University of Kansas will lead the discussion over “Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe” By Fannie Flagg.
On March 27th features John Nichols’ book, “The Milagro Beanfield War”, led by Nicholas Shump of Barstow School in Kansas City.
The series concludes with “Snow Falling on Cedars” by David Guterson in April with Nancy Hope, Associate Director of the Kansas Consortium for Teaching about Asia.
