K-State’s trademark defense was overwhelmed by Kansas in an 86-60 loss in Allen Fieldhouse.
It was the eighth straight loss in Lawrence for K-State, with the previous seven losses coming by an average of 19.6 points per game.
Kansas shot a red-hot 56.1% from the floor in the game, including shooting over 65% in the first half against the Big 12’s best scoring defense. Andrew Wiggins led all scores with 22 points, while Wayne Selden kicked in 20 as well.
K-State shot 44% for the game, but went just 1-11 from behind the three-point line in the loss. Nino Williams and Thomas Gipson were the only two Wildcats in double figures with 12 and 10 respectively. Freshman star Marcus Foster was held to just seven points on 3-12 shooting.
The Wildcats return home on Tuesday to take on the Oklahoma Sooners who knocked off Iowa State on Saturday.
