The Kansas Highway Patrol has released more information about a vehicle/bicycle accident KMAN news first reported mid-day Monday. The accident occurred on highway 24, or Tuttle Creek Boulevard, at 59th Street north of Manhattan.
KHP indicates a 1996 Honda Civic driven by Eleanor Samuelson, 90 of Randolph was eastbound on highway 24 and failed to maintain a lane, striking the pedestrian/bicyclist with a right side vehicle mirror. The pedestrian is listed as Jefrey Hooper, 45, of Manhattan. KHP indicates he was taken to Mercy Regional Health Center, although RCPD dispatch indicated Monday he refused medical transport.
The accident was reported at 10:25 Monday morning.
