A St. Mary’s man charged with second degree homicide and aggravated assault appeared in Pottawatomie County District Court Tuesday morning.

Both of the charges against Pablo Gonzalez (21) involve an incident that took place on New Year’s Day this year.  Levi Bishop (24), of Rossville, was a passenger in a vehicle with Gonzalez, and was found deceased inside the vehicle from a gunshot wound.

Gonzalez appeared before Pottawatomie County District Court Judge, Jeff Elder and waived his right to a fast and speedy trial in 90 days.

His week-long jury trial was set to begin on August 25th.  A final pre-trial will take place beforehand on August 11th at 1 p.m.
