    Cement Truck Roll-Over

    Emergency crews were called to Anderson Avenue west of Manhattan early Monday afternoon, to a report of a cement truck overturned just west of 62nd Avenue. According to Mat Droge, Public Information Officer for the Riley County Police Department, the driver was Lifestarred to a Topeka Hospital with serious injuries.

    The accident was reported at about 12:12 p.m., Traffic was blocked a short time later,with Riley County Police re-routing traffic at 60th and 69th Avenues. That stretch of Anderson Avenue remained closed until about 5 p.m.

    Riley County EMS, Manhattan and Riley County Fire Departments, and Westar were called in to assist. A telephone pole reportedly was damaged when the cement truck overturned in a ditch.

    The investigation as to what caused thet accident continues.
