K-State Athletics Director John Currie will meet with ESPN analyst Jay Bilas today, according to Currie’s twitter account.
Bilas continued to tweet about K-State denying Leti Romero’s release this morning:

Shortly after the tweet from Bilas, Currie used to his own twitter account to indicate that he would be sitting down with Bilas:

Currie’s sent multiple tweets to explain why K-State is doing what it is doing in regards to Romero.
“Student privacy prevents discussion of individual student issues,” Currie said on twitter. “As AD I have an obligation to all of our SA & institution to ensure dept & univ procedures are followed. Generally speaking, on RARE occasions that we have denied a student-athlete transfer release, it has been because of concerns about outside tampering, undue influence by third parties, or procedures not being followed in an honest and forthright manner.”
Romero was K-State’s leading scorer last season as a freshman and opted to transfer after Deb Patterson and her staff were fired following the 2013-14 season. Without a release from K-State, Romero will have to pay her own way for a season while she sits out per NCAA transfer rules.
