Riley County Law Enforcement CenterThree major theft incidents turned into one significant arrest.

The Riley County Police Department received a 9-1-1 call from Richard Rothfuss (69) of Junction City around 4:15 Sunday afternoon. He reported that he was confronted by an armed male in the 3100 block of Anderson Avenue, and forced to drive to the 4100 block of Marlatt Avenure, where his personal property was taken from him. The suspect then left in Rothfuss’s 2014 black Chevy Silverado valued around $30,000. He also obtained other items including a bank card and a cell phone. Rothfuss walked to a nearby home and reported the incident to police.

Jerred Snyder (30), who is listed as homeless, was later arrested for aggravated robbery, kidnapping, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, and criminal use of a financial card. His bond was set at $100,000.

Prior to this incident, police were contacted by Dianna Philippi (61) of Manahttan, who reported that Snyder was her former roommate and he had taken some of her personal property from her home. After an investigation, police also charged Snyder with theft, criminal damage to property and making false information. This bond associated with these offenses is $5,000.

A third arrest also made an arrest earlier that week involving Joseph Cronn (31) of Manhattan, who reported his firearm was missing from his home. Follow up investigation revealed the gun had been pawned under false pretenses, and Snyder was arrested for this theft as well, for an additional $5,000 bond.

    His total bond is $110,000.
