A five-run sixth inning rallied K-State past Baylor on Thursday night 8-2 at Tointon Family Stadium. The Cats trailed the Bears 2-1 entering the frame, when Tyler Stover scored on an error by Baylor pitcher Brad Kuntz.

The next two batters struck out, and then senior all-American Ross Kivett came through with a 2-out 2-run single to give K-State the lead.

RJ Santigate and Austin Fisher would close the inning with run scoring base hits.

Max Brown closed the scoring in the seventh with his first career home run, a two run blast to left.

Stover led K-State with three hits on the night, while Kivett, Fisher and Brown also had multi-hit efforts.

Levi MaVorhis (5-4) pitched eight solid innings, settling down after giving up two runs early.  The sophomore scattered seven hits and a walk.  Jake Whaley pitched the ninth inning, striking out two while walking one.

K-State will go for the series victory against Baylor on Friday night at 6:30pm. Pregame begins at 6:00 on KMAN from the K-State Sports Network.
