    Update 10:00 a.m. Wednesday

KMAN received an update on the University Park accident we had previously told you about.

Emergency crews responded to an accident involving a three wheeled vehicle that flipped, pinning the driver near the 8500 block of University Park Road, which is northwest of Manhattan.  This occurred around 11:15 Tuesday evening.

Life Star responded to the scene due to the seriousness of the injuries sustained by the 69 year old driver.  Although Riley County Police could not yet release the man’s identity, they said he is receiving medical treatment at Stormont Vail in Topeka.

RCPD Public Information Officer Mat Droge indicates it will probably be Thursday morning before he is able to release a name. He says  officers are still locating information to support the investigation and in the interest of better serving the victim and his family RCPD has chosen to delay the release of his personal information.
