tulip 3Every spring, Wamego hosts the annual tulip festival, and this year was the 27th year of the event.  The festival is held in Wamego City Park, and many home gardens throughout the town feature colorful tulips.

Over 150 craft and artisan vendors are located throughout the park.  Some of the items being sold included-jewelry, purses, clothing, candles, soaps, toys, art, and home decor.

The two day event also featured over a dozen food trucks and vendors.  Funnel cakes, barbeque, stir fry, and wood-fire pizzas were some of the foods available.

One of the appealing aspects of the event is the amount of children’s activities, making it very family friendly.  Children enjoyed a petting zoo, a climbing wall, a bounce house area, and train rides.

Several other activities were held in conjunction with the festival, including-a horseshoe tournament, a 5K benefit race, and a Cabin Fever Challenge Bike Ride.
