He waited until Mother’s Day to make it official, and just as word leaked three weeks ago, Orland Park, Illinois four-star prospect Malek Harris
signed his national letter-of-intent with the K-State men’s basketball program on Sunday.

The 6-foot-7-inch Harris averaged 17.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists as a junior during the 2012-13 season at Sandburg High School.
According to Rivals.com, Harris is the #80 player in the 2014 recruiting class. He originally committed to Marquette, but re-opened his recruitment when head coach Buzz Williams took the job at Virigina Tech. He considered the Golden Eagles and Hokies before picking K-State over offers also from Florida and Gonzaga.
