K-State’s Ross Kivett was named to the All-Big 12 second team as a utility player, and Tanner DeVinny was named to the All-Big 12 Freshman team, the league announced today.

It’s the second year in a row that Kivett has been honored by the league, after winning Big 12 Player of the Year in 2013. This season Kivett hit .333 with four home runs and 33 runs batted in while starting all 55 of K-State’s games. He led the Big 12 in stolen bases in league games (12), and was tied for tenth in hits (28) and runs scored (15). Kivett made starts at second base, center field and designated hitter while spending some time at first base as well. This is the fifth time in K-State history that a player has been named to the All-Big 12 First or Second Team multiple times in their career.

DeVinny led K-State in home runs during conference play (3), and was tied for the team lead in conference RBIs (11) and extra base hits (6). He finished the year hitting .257 with three home runs and 31 RBIs in 46 games played. The 31 RBIs were the most for a Wildcat freshman since Jared King drove in 40 runs in 2011. King was also the last Wildcat to be named to the All-Big 12 Freshman Team.

Oklahoma State head coach Josh Holliday was the Big 12 Coach of the Year and OSU’s Zach Fish was the Big 12 Player of the Year.
