
Dave Martinez has been named the assistant principal at Eisenhower Middle School. Martinez currently serves as the Assistant to the Principal/Athletic Director at Junction City Middle School in Junction City, Kansas. He has served in that position since 2009. Prior to that, he was a fine arts & human services academy leader, an ELL Instructor, and a Physical Education teacher at Junction City High School. He has a M.S. degree in Education Administration from Kansas State University and a B.S. degree in K- 12 Physical Education from Emporia State University.
“It’s an honor to have been selected for this position and I am excited about the opportunity to serve with the Eisenhower Middle School staff,” states Martinez. “I look forward to contributing to a culture of academic and athletic excellence at EMS.”
“I am very pleased to have Mr. Martinez coming on board as the Assistant Principal of Eisenhower Middle School,” states Tracy Newell, Principal. “He brings with him a vast amount of experience in both the activities/athletics and academics areas and over two decades of experience in education. He will be a valuable member of the EMS family and I look forward to working with him in the coming year.”
Martinez will begin his new position in late July, 2014. He replaces Marvin Rupe who is transferring to Manhattan High School as an assistant principal.
