    Christopher Lyman

Two preliminary hearings that had been set for this past week in Geary County District Court have been continued. Christopher and Tammerisk Lyman of Junction City, who were scheduled for June fourth, will now have a preliminary hearing September third. Christopher Lyman’s charges include first degree murder and child abuse. Tammerisk Lyman is charged with aggravated child endangerment.

The two were arrested last September after an eight-month-old child was brought into the emergency room at Geary Community Hospital, then transported by helicopter to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. The child later died.

And Jason Nazario, who was to have a preliminary hearing Friday (June 6) is now set for a status hearing June 17th. Nazario is involved in two separate cases, with one involving the alleged rape of a 13-year-old. Nazario recently got a new defense attorney, who asked for the continuance.  He was arrested on the rape charge by Junction City Police December 18th of last year.  He also faces a charge of failing to register as a sex offender.
