A year after the Cleveland Indians picked K-State’s Ross Kivett in the tenth round, the Detroit Tigers took Kivett with pick number 190 in the sixth round of the MLB draft Friday.
Kivett spent most of his K-State career at second base, but he was listed as a center fielder when the Tigers made their selection. He was moved to center field early in the 2014 season to better accommodate the rest of the K-State lineup.
Kivett opted to come back to K-State after being taken 291st overall by his hometown team last year and the Wildcats struggled to a last place finish in the Big 12 in 2014.
