A Manhattan student has been selected to participate in the Library of Congress Junior Fellows program. Congressman Tim Huelskamp of Kansas made that announcement today.
Katherine Andrews of Manhattan is one of the 48 students selected. Andrews is a student at the University of Kansas and is one of 900 applicants chosen to be a part of the program this year. She’ll be interning in the Preservation Research and Testing Division.
Today, the Junior Fellows Summer Interns, along with Library curators and specialists, presented rare items from the Library s unique collection. Fellows are given the opportunity to travel through time via the Library’s collections of information in categories which include Collections Preservation, Geography and Maps, Humanities, Arts and Culture, Information Technology, Library Sciences, and Chemistry and Science.
