At approximately 6:00 PM Johnny Cossey, 38, and Timothy Holmes, 43, entered the residence of Vincent Taylor, 22, all subjects are of Ogden, Kansas. Immediately upon the two men making entry, Taylor was accosted and received two puncture wounds (one small wound to the cheek and one wound to the neck). The victim was also struck with a blunt object. Also inside the residence, however uninjured, was Samantha Rex, 24, of Ogden, Kansas.
On the evening of July 20, 2014, police investigating the robbery and attack were able to locate and arrest Cossey and Holmes, who had fled the scene prior to police arriving.
Cossey was arrested for attempted murder in the first degree, aggravated robbery, and aggravated burglary. He was given a bond of $1,000,000.00 and was confined at the time of this release in the Riley County Jail.
Holmes was arrested for attempted murder in the first degree, aggravated robbery, and aggravated burglary. He was given a bond of $500,000.00 and was also confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this release.
The Riley County Police Department does not anticipate any further arrests in this matter and after being life-flighted for medical treatment Taylor is believed to make a full recovery.
