The Minnesota Vikings have back tracked what they addressed about running back Adrian Peterson earlier in the week and now take a stance by barring the former Oklahoma Sooner from team activities as they let the justice system play out in Peterson’s felony child abuse charge.
Peterson was indicted last week in Texas, on a felony count of reckless or negligent injury to a child. The charge stems from an incident that reportedly left bruises and wounds on much of his 4-year-old son.
The Vikings then reinstated Peterson on Monday, citing concern for due process and the legal proceedings. The Vikings said they had further deliberations with the NFL earlier in the week, and informed the league they were revisiting the matter.
The Vikings play at New Orleans this Sunday.
