Men Picked 4th, Women 9th in Big 12

The K-State men came in just two points ahead of Iowa State for fourth place in the Big 12 preseason coaches’ poll. It’s the highest the Wildcats have been picked since they were the preseason pick to win the league before the 2010-11 season. The team was also picked fourth in 2007-08 and 2009-10.

Kansas was picked to win the league for a third straight year, but Texas and Oklahoma also received first place votes.

Jeff Mittie and the K-State women were picked ninth by the league coaches for the 2014-15 season. Texas Tech was the only team below the Wildcats.

Despite winning at least a share of each of the last four Big 12 regular season titles, the Baylor Bears weren’t picked to win the league. They came in two points behind Texas, who is the league favorite for the third time in Big 12 history.
