A Manhattan man has been sentenced in Geary County District Court on two counts of aggravated indecent solicitation of a child. Trevor Triffet was sentenced to 64 months with the Kansas Department of Corrections, but suspended to 36 months probation with sex offender treatment. Triffet entered a plea in late August in connection with the case. He was arrested in May, with the victim identified as a 12-year-old female.
And Michael Hall, 47, was sentenced to the maximum Friday in Geary County District Court in a felony animal cruelty case. Judge Steven Hornbaker sentenced Hall to 12 months in the Geary County jail, calling it a “heinous act,” adding he was concerned if the defendant would do that to an animal he would do that to a person. Hall entered a no contest plea this past summer in connection with hanging a German Shepherd puppy until it died.
