
The affidavit released additional details about this case, and indicated emergency assistance was called for when the child was left alone with McConnell for just a few minutes. The child was not breathing and was taken to Mercy Regional Health Center, where the child was then transferred to Children’s Mercy in Kansas City.
Alexander McConnell appeared in Riley County District Court Tuesday afternoon via web cam. His attorney, Lora Ingels, appeared in Judge William Malcolm’s courtroom in person and asked that the case be set for preliminary hearing.
McConnell’s case was set for March 6th from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. The case will be heard in Judge Malcolm’s courtroom.
