Sales tax numbers for the city of Manhattan show a 2.3 percent increase for yearly numbers, but are down slightly for the December tax reports. City Finance Director Bernie Hayen says retail sales “remained strong,” although he says there were no particular variations or notable declines to report.
The December numbers were $863,570, compared to $887,567 in December of 2013. The year-round totals though show about 10,723,686 compared to $10,484,185 last year.
