U-S Senator Jerry Moran of Manhattan made a couple quick stops at area businesses Monday, prior to his return to Washington D.C. Florence Manufacturing and Ultra-ICE in Manhattan had a visit
Moran was impressed with what he saw–with ICE seeing some changes recently, with UIltra showing the acquisition by a British company of part of the facility.
ICE specializes in the design, manufacturing, qualifications, and testing of aerospace electronics.
Senator Moran says things are definitely different this session, with nine new Republican Senators, the largest increase by either party since 1980. His hope and belief is this is a Senate that’s going to get to work. In fact he says the group is now meeting all five weekdays rather than Monday through Thursday as had become the custom.
The Senator also commented on the status of the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility to be located in Manhattan, saying while the lack of official funding the end of the year wasn’t harmful, it certainly wasn’t helpful.
