Genesis Health Clubs purchases Max Fitness

0
By KMAN Staff on February 3, 2015 Local News, Manhattan, Riley County

Genesis Health Clubs announced Tuesday the purchase of both
Max Fitness locations in Manhattan, KS. Currently Genesis owns/operates 20 clubs in
Wichita, Hutchinson, Salina, Emporia, Lawrence, Topeka, Leavenworth, Manhattan and
McPherson, Kansas, one club in St. Joseph, Missouri and two clubs in Springfield, MO. With
28 years of experience and great expertise in the health and fitness industry, Genesis
Health Clubs owner Rodney Steven II and his staff are looking forward to bringing their
passion for health and fitness and excellence in customer service to Manhattan.

“In short order, Rodney Steven has developed and perfected the recipe of providing
an upscale health club solution to our industry at a reasonable price. You don’t get to 20
really nice clubs by accident! Bringing Genesis to ‘Manhappiness’ will benefit our staff,
clients, and the community in general. It will provide yet another reason why our
community is already great, but getting even better.” Dave Dreiling, owner of Max Fitness.

“I am proud and excited to announce that the sale is official, and the quality of
service and programs that have been a part of Max Fitness will continue and will thrive to a
new level. We want to commend the high level of service that the their staff has provided.
We are looking forward to bringing our brand to the Manhattan community,” said Steven.

Genesis is planning on building a new location from the ground up on a plot of land
on the hilltop of 2704 Allison Avenue and 0000 Fort Riley Blvd. in Manhattan. The 65,000
sq. foot health club will include will include Indoor tennis courts, Indoor Pools and
Basketball Court with Track. Genesis is known for their luxurious locker rooms, spacious
weight rooms and cardio areas as well as specialized amenities and beautiful finishings in
their clubs. They plan on bringing those same features to this new location.

“I have really wanted to expand into the Manhattan market for some time now and
finally found the perfect land to build. In the meantime we were able to finalize the
purchase of Max Fitness allowing us to serve members in town while we build what will be
one of our most beautiful clubs. We plan to break ground later this year and when it’s
finished, we will close the west side location,” explained Steven.

“We are excited to bring Genesis Health Clubs to Manhattan and look forward to
working with the community. I am fully committed to maintaining safe, clean, state-of-the-art
facilities and hope to create the same great atmosphere here as we have at our other
Genesis locations. As well as a friendly and professional staff that puts customer service at
the top of their priority list.” Steven also stated.

Genesis Health Clubs offers twenty locations in Kansas and Missouri.
