By KMAN Staff on February 11, 2015 Local News, Pottawatomie County

Update: 7:40 pm-  The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s office is asking the public to assist them in locating a man who confronted two St. George Elementary sixth graders.

The students, both boys, were confronted by a man on their way back from a  recycling trailer, located on the north side of the school. The Sheriff’s Office describes the subject as an older male in his 60’s or 70’s, wearing a white and black vertical striped shirt and blue jeans. The man was also described as having gray hair, with a bald in back of head, and a white beard. The man was reportedly driving a red, 4-door Chevrolet.

If anyone has information regarding the incident, or the identity of the subject, please contact the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office at 785-457-3353.

    Earlier report:

Rock Creek USD 323 Superintendent Darrell Stufflebeam sent a message to parents Tuesday afternoon regarding an incident that took place at the end of the school day.

In the message sent to the parents, two 6th grade boys were putting materials in the recycling trailer at the end of the day and they encountered an older man (60-70 years old) who was acting strangely and may have grabbed or tried to grab one of them. The man left in a newer, small, red Chevrolet vehicle (probably with four doors). The man had gray hair with a bald spot, a beard, and no glasses. The police are investigating.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s office at 785-457-3353.
