Riley County Police have released details regarding an accidental death involving a firearm.Around 1:20 a.m. on Monday, officers responded to a report of an accidental shooting in the 14000 block of Gardiner Road in Randolph. Once on scene, officers found that Steven Hoard (46) of Randolph sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was deceased.
This accident was the result of Hoard tripping while holding the firearm near a wooded area on his property.
The Riley County Police Department ruled this death as an accident and do not suspect foul play.
