Riley County Police reported that a man was trapped after a trench collapsed at a construction site Friday evening.
According to Riley County Police Department officer Matt Droge says a construction worker was trapped in a trench near the Scenic drive and Fossil Ridge Intersection.
Riley County Police confirmed to KMAN Friday night that the man was rescued and transported to Mercy Regional Health Center however his condition is unknown.
The accident resulted in the closure of Scenic Drive between Ft. Riley Boulevard and Anderson Avenue while emergency personnel were on the scene.
Authorities anticipate issuing a press release with more information on this incident on Saturday morning.
