    RCPD Shuts Down Marijuana, Steroid Operation

    stock_police_tapeDetectives from the Riley County Police Department served a series of search warrants on Wednesday related to a drug investigation.
    Search warrants were conducted at 1521 Leavenworth Street apartment #5, 309 Kearney Street and at a storage unit located at 425 McCall Road. As a result of the search warrants approximately 14 pounds of marijuana, approximately ½ pound of methamphetamine, over 2,000 prescription pills, 5 firearms, approximately $51,000 in US Currency and two vehicles were seized. A marijuana grow operation and steroid manufacturing operation was also discovered. The total estimated street value for the seized items is $171,600.
    Four individuals were arrested in connection with this incident:

    Grant Hamel, of 1521 Leavenworth Street Apartment #5 was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of Xanax with intent to distribute, possession of OxyContin with intent to distribute, possession of amphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of felony drug paraphernalia, possession of Vyvanse and criminal use of a weapon.  He was held in the Riley County Jail in lieu of a $200,000 bond.

    Katherine Nguyen, of 918 Osage Street was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of Xanax with intent to distribute, possession of OxyContin with intent to distribute, possession of amphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of felony drug paraphernalia, possession of Vyvanse and criminal use of a weapon.   She was held in the Riley County Jail in lieu of a $80,000 bond.

    Tyler Troute, of 309 Kearney Street was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of Xanax with intent to distribute, possession of Vyvanse with intent to distribute, possession of felony drug paraphernalia and criminal use of a weapon,  He was held at the Riley County Jail in lieu of a $80,000 bond.

    Taylor Beck, of 309 Kearney was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of Xanax with intent to distribute, possession of Vyvanse with intent to distribute, possession of felony drug paraphernalia and criminal use of a weapon,  She was held at the Riley County Jail in lieu of a $80,000 bond.
