    Rock Creek Boys advance to 4A D-II Final

    The Rock Creek Mustangs have advanced to the Championship Game of the Class 4A Division II Boys State Basketball Tournament after defeating Wichita Trinity 86-71 Friday night in Semifinal action at Hartman Arena in Park City. The Mustangs will face Holcomb for the State title at 6:15 p.m. Saturday in a game that can be heard on our sister station Hot Country B 104.7. Holcomb was a 77-60 winner over Osawatomie earlier Friday.

    Elsewhere, the Clay Center Girls came up short in their bid for a Class 4A Division II State title falling to Hugoton 55-36. The Lady Tigers will play Concordia in the third place game Saturday at Noon.

    The Class 2A State Tournament continued on Friday at Bramlage Coliseum on the K-State campus. In Girls semifinal action Central Plains beat Meade 64-51 while Moundridge downed Valley Falls 56-46. Meade will face Valley Falls in the third place game at Noon Saturday and Central Plains and Moundridge meet for the Championship at 4 p.m.

    On the Boys side, Central Plains cruised past Olpe 69-44 while St. John-Hudson featuring K-State commit Dean Wade defeated Washington County 71-53. On Saturday at 2 p.m. Olpe will face Washington County in the third place contest while St. John-Hudson will square off against Central Plains for the title at 6:15 p.m.
