Wamego Police are investigating the death of a woman Thursday afternoon. A news release indicates at about 12:30 PM, officers from the Wamego Police Department and Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a deceased person at an apartment complex in the 1000 block of 14th Street in Wamego.

Upon arrival the adult female was confirmed to be deceased and an investigation was started.
The news release indicates any time a death occurs outside of medical supervision, law enforcement treats the death as suspicious until it can be proven otherwise. At this point in the investigation there does not appear to be foul play.  However an autopsy will be performed to confirm this.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is also assisting in the investigation.
