A Wichita man was convicted and a Wichita woman sentenced in Pottawatomie County District Court earlier this week on methamphetamine-related charges. Joseph Swarts, 34, and Ashleigh Swarts, 30, were arrested last July at the Quality Inn along with several other individuals on drug-related counts.
Joseph Swarts was convicted Tuesday after a two day jury trial, of felony possession of meth and drug paraphernalia. His sentencing is set for May 21st.
Ashleigh Swarts, who entered a plea of no contest to distribution of meth last month, was sentenced Tuesday to an underlying sentence of 30 months with the Department of Corrections, but granted probation for 24 months. She is also ordered to pay costs and undergo drug treatment.
