    High School Sports Results – 4/17 and 4/18

    – Manhattan High girls soccer finished with a 0-0 tie in double overtime at Seaman on Friday. The Indians are now 4-2-1 this season and have a road trip to Hayden on Tuesday.

    – Manhattan High track competed at the KU Relays over the weekend. Michael Melgares took fourth place in the 3200 meters and was second among competitors from Kansas high schools. The girls 4×1600 meter relay team finished in ninth place.

    – Manhattan High baseball and softball were each postponed on Friday.

    – The Rock Creek boys track and field team took second at the Rock Creek Invitational while the girls finished third. Junior Michael Zabel won the discus with a toss of 157-4 which set a meet record. He also won the 100 meters and took second in the shot put and 200 meters. Hayden Schochtermeier won the girls long jump and 100 meters and Carson Becker won the boys javelin.

    – Both the Wamego boys and girls took first at the Rock Creek Invitational. Kayla Evans won the girls shot put and discus, Allison Seufert won the girls 1600 meters, Riley Wilson won the girls 300 meter hurdles and the Wamego girls 4×400 meter relay team took first. Michael Bryan won the boys shot put, Chris Willette won the boys 110 meter high hurdles and Joey Holley won the 300 meter intermediate hurdles.
