High School Sports Results 4/2

– Rock Creek baseball swept Marysville 11-1 and 13-2. Shiloh Schaake and Jackson Goodmiller each had five hits on the day.
– Riley County baseball swept Chapman 14-4 and 5-0. Dalton Huey and Dalton Engle picked up wins on the mound.
– Manhattan High softball split with Topeka High. They took game one 9-2 and lost game two 4-3.
– Rock Creek and Wamego softball split. The Mustangs took game one 8-4 and Wamego won game two 10-8.
– Manhattan tennis knocked off Junction City 9-3. The Indians won all but one of the singles matches. They split four dobules matches.
– At the Washburn Rural Invitational, Manhattan High’s Colton Wagner won the shot put, Chris Martin won the 400 meters, Michael Melgares won the 1600 and 800 meters and the Indians won the 3200 meter relay.
– MHS girls winners were Madison Johnson in the triple jump, Matalyn Mahan in the high jump, Ja Chel Wood in the shot put, Kylie James in the discus, Cara Melgares in the javelin, 3200 meter and 1600 meter run, Megan Ochoa in the 400 and the Indians 3200 meter relay team.
– The Rock Creek track boys and girls each finished 5th at the Silver Lake Winter Meet. Riley County’s girls and boys each finished 7th. Brice Brummett won the javelin for Riley County and Rock Creek’s Michael Zabel won the discus. Rock Creek’s Hayden Schlotermeier also won the girls long jump.
