    KDOC Inmate with Geary County Ties up for Parole

    A Kansas Department of Corrections inmate with ties to Geary County is due for a public comment session and possible parole.

    Gilbert Mason (63) was charged with Kidnapping in 2005 and has been serving time at the El Dorado Correctional Facility in Dickinson County.

    Mason was also arrested in Geary County in December of 1974 and charged with with aggravated burglary, robbery and kidnapping.

    Public comment sessions are set for Mason’s case and several others on June 17th in Derby, June 19th at the municipal court house in Topeka and June 22nd at City Hall in Kansas City.

    Mason will also have a parole hearing in July with the earliest possible release in August.
