A Marysville man has been sentenced to one year in jail for driving his vehicle into two Manhattan businesses, including Staples, last December. Jason Butler is to serve nine months and will be on parole after his release.
As a condition of parole, Butler will have to comply with treatment and pay restitution in excess of $43,000.
Butler was found guilty in Pottawatomie County Court last month of driving under the influence, with seven other charges in the case dismissed.
Two businesses were impacted near Tuttle Creek Boulevard, including Staples and Short Go. Butler’s vehicle was later found, also heavily damaged, at the nearby Motel 6. Butler was also found there with obvious injuries and blood on him–and several empty beer cans were found in the area of the vehicle.
