WEEKDAY LANE CLOSURES: Eastbound and westbound I-70 over Mill Creek and over Union Pacific Railroad Bridges (in Wabaunsee County) will have varying lane closures as follows for bridge inspection work this week, Monday–Thursday, May 4-7 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.

These lane closures are needed so the bridge crews can utilize the snooper vehicle (see snooper photo above) to safely inspect underneath the bridge decks.

The schedule for this week is as follows, weather permitting:

Monday, May 4, 8 a.m.-3 p.m.            >  Westbound I-70 Right Lane over Mill Creek Bridge CLOSED (MM 333.31)

Tuesday, May 5, 8 a.m.-3 p.m.          >  Eastbound I-70 Right Lane over Mill Creek Bridge CLOSED (MM 333.31)

Wednesday, May 6, 8 a.m.-3 p.m.     >  Westbound I-70 Right Lane over Union Pacific Railroad Bridge CLOSED (MM 333.12)

Thursday, May 7 8 a.m.-3 p.m.          >  Eastbound I-70 Right Lane over Union Pacific Railroad Bridge CLOSED (MM 333.12)

Drivers should expect only minor delays and will be directed through the project work zone via cones and signage.

The Kansas Department of Transportation urges all motorists to be alert, obey the warning signs, and “Give ‘Em a Brake!” when approaching and driving through the project work zone.
