A Geary County first degree murder/child abuse jury trial resumes Thursday with the jury recessing at 5 p.m. Wednesday. The group will continue deliberations in the Christopher Lyman trial Thursday morning. Closing arguments were heard Wednesday. Lyman did not take the stand.
The charges against Lyman involve an eight-month-old child who died at a Kansas City Hospital. The child was first brought to the Geary Community Hospital emergency room in September of 2013, then transported by helicopter to Children’s Mercy Hospital.
The trial began last week.
