In an interview given on Friday state representative Sydney Carlin told KMAN that the legislature was unable to come up with a tax solution to fund shortfalls, and now has only one day left in the regular session. Representative Carlin believes the house will go into “overtime” to correct the issue, but warns her constituents that the funds won’t be available to pay the members of the house for the extra sessions.
Kansas has been lauded and ridiculed for its continued budget maneuvers, and national attention is now on the state to see if the situation is resolved in the near future.
